In today’s readings, I was reminded of the blessing of family, and the many struggles all of us are capable of overcoming with the help of our loved ones.

With a global pandemic amidst my family and the world, I felt as if our immediate surroundings began to crumble.  It was as if everyone was faced with baffling issues, tremendous loss, and challenges that no one in the world had asked for.

Advent is a time of anticipation in the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ and hope in God’s love for all of us. Let us never forget that God’s love is enduring. He sent Jesus to us as the ultimate act of love and ultimately sacrificed His Son for us and gave us the promise of eternal life.

Jesus is coming!

As I reflect on the Third week of Advent, I am reminded of the great joy that is ours as followers of Jesus. Jesus will soon be here! Both of our readings and the Psalm reflect the great happiness that the coming of Jesus will bring to the entire world. We all wait in joyful anticipation. We open our hearts to the hope and promise that the birth of Jesus

“Love Thy Neighbor” 

As the year comes quickly to an end, and many are planning on how to make a final year-end charitable contribution that has the most impact, please consider the many lives that are helped because of the support given to the Diocesan Ministries Appeal.

In the First Reading today, God comforts us through the Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah then exhorts us, " Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths." We are to tell everyone of the good news and to fear not! We must cry out that our God is here, our shepherd who feeds His flock and gathers the lambs and ewes with care.
