Reflection for the 6th Sunday of Easter Eric Roberson
In Acts 8 we learn that God can be found anywhere & it is there (ie. EVERYwhere) that God the Father-God the Son-God the Holy Spirit can free our repentant souls from sin.
Though God can be found everywhere, being part of the Church Community & Traditions is important to our soul receiving the blessing of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:16-17):
16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
It is my joy to praise God’s love for us and try to share in His blessings for us! God reminds each of us in our own lives of His grace & blessings. Lately, my family has been reminded of the fragile nature of our time on earth.
My Dad, who is also a Grandad & Great Grandad, fights against cancer yet smiles & stays active whenever we call, facetime, or visit. He appreciates all the time God has given him & the fact that he was here to meet his first great grandchild this week!
My young sister-in-law, who is only 43 years old, suffered a stroke last week. She is the mother of 3 children and their visits, prayers, and love have helped give her the spirit to fight for recovery. She will spend Mother’s Day and a few more months to regain her strength and control of her earthen vessel. And she will keep praying for God’s help & thanking Him for this chance here on earth & the greater chance to visit Heaven in the future.
These earthen vessels that our souls travel in shall one day crash & disintegrate. Yet when we integrate the lessons of Jesus, continued through the Church Peter started, then we may receive God’s grace, forgiveness, and eternal happiness. As Jesus taught us, His disciples in John 14:20 “...you are in me, and I am in you.“
Go be happy with your Mother’s today for their love emulates the love of God! And to my Moms & Grandmas: one in New Hampshire and the others in Heaven..”Thank you & I love you!” Say “Hi” to God for me in your next prayer.
