Annual Jazz Concert
On August 6, 2017 from 2 – 4 pm in the Parish Field we are hosting our second annual Jazz Concert! Last year over 200 people attended and were entertained by the Big Band Sounds of the 30’s and 40’s presented by the Chatham Jazz Ensemble.
The Chatham Jazz Band is an all adult jazz/big band, organized under the direction of the Adult School of Madison, Chatham and Florham Park school district. The bands focus is on the jazz and big band music of the 20’s,30’s, 40’s, and beyond. The band performs classic big band charts of the Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Buddy Rich era, as well as more contemporary compositions of Quincy Jones, Neal Hefti, Doc Severinson and Sammy Nestico. It is an all volunteer band with members from all walks of life. Some of our members are professionally trained, while many have music as a hobby.
Bring your family, bring the kids, bring your friends for this terrific summer concert! There will be seating under the big tent or bring your favorite blanket or lawn chair. Don’t forget your sunscreen, summer snacks and refreshments, perhaps a cold beer or wine. There is no cost to attend, but a Free Will Offering will gratefully be accepted to help defray costs.
Please join us for some music, summer fun and fellowship!
